Mini cinnamon star cakes | Recipe
With white chocolate icing and orange zest

Our cinnamon star cakes are an appealing treat for any Advent coffee table or tea time. Unlike classic cookies, these cute stars are made from a delicate sponge mixture. After baking, they are topped with a sweet white chocolate glaze and sprinkled with fresh orange zest. The subtle notes of cinnamon, orange and almonds are perfect for the (pre-)Christmas season.
Ingredients
For 16 stars
For the dough:

sunflower oil

ground almonds
80 g
flour
1 tsp
cinnamon powder
1 tsp
baking powder
2 tbsp
milk

orange (zest)
For the topping:
55 g

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (top/bottom heat) and grease the tin as required.

Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy, then slowly stir in the oil.

Stir in the orange zest, cinnamon powder, almonds, flour and baking powder one after the other. Finally, stir in the milk until you have a smooth batter.

Pour the batter into the individual moulds and bake for approx. 15–18 minutes until golden brown. Then leave to cool completely.

In the meantime, prepare the topping. To do this, finely chop the cooking chocolate.

Heat the cream (do not boil) and pour over the chocolate. Leave to stand for a short time, then stir until smooth. Now stir in the icing sugar until you have a shiny, slightly thick glaze.

Spread the topping on the cakes and sprinkle with a little orange zest.
