01
For the mulled wine, heat the red wine (or grape juice) with sugar, add the tea bag with punch/mulled wine spices and leave to infuse for approx. 5 minutes.
02
Remove the tea bag and pour the mulled wine into a heatproof bowl. Break the cooking chocolate into pieces and add to the bowl.
03
Mix the sugar and cornflour with the 10 ml red wine (or grape juice) until smooth and add to the mixture.
04
Heat the mixture in a bain-marie, stirring until the chocolate has melted and a thick, shiny sauce has formed. Leave to cool slightly.
05
Meanwhile, roll out the puff pastry and cut out 20-24 stars. Place half of the stars on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
06
Now place about 1 teaspoon of the mulled wine and chocolate filling on each star. Cover each with a second star and press the edges together lightly.
07
Brush the stars with beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
08
Allow to cool briefly, then dust with icing sugar.
