Coffee or hot chocolate – can't decide? Then a chocolatey mochaccino is just the thing for you. This coffee speciality is made by layering homemade chocolate sauce, freshly brewed espresso and a generous portion of milk foam in a coffee glass. If you want to avoid milk, you can froth up a plant-based drink of your choice instead, e.g. oat or soy milk.

01
First, make the chocolate syrup. Break the chocolate into small pieces and place in a heatproof bowl.
02
Pour the hot water over the chocolate. Add sugar and stir well until the chocolate has completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Then leave to cool.
03
Meanwhile, brew 6 cups of fresh espresso.
04
At the same time, prepare the milk foam. To do this, heat the milk and froth it with a milk frother until creamy foam forms.
05
Now, for the mochaccino, divide the cooled chocolate syrup evenly among 6 coffee glasses (reserve some syrup for decoration). Coat the inside of the glasses with the syrup.
06
Then pour one cup of espresso into each glass and stir well. Top up with milk foam and garnish with chocolate syrup.
